Mayako Ohkura met butoh dancer Masahide Ohmori while at college, joined his company Tenrouseidoh, and has appeared in many of the productions. She also dances solo. Her physical presence and her body's ability to seemingly stretch time are sleek and overwhelming. Winner of New Dancer Award of Dance critics Association Award in 2003.
