KINOSHITAKABUKI Kyoto
KINOSHITAKABUKI aims to present Kabuki from a fresh perspective, without completely ignoring the historical context, in order to provoke the overall movement surrounding Kabuki and its contemporary performing arts. Formed in 2006, this Kyoto-based company has so far presented the "play" pieces of traditional Kabuki, with different directors following Yuichi Kinoshita's concept, and they now tackle the "dance" pieces for the first time, to reexamine Kabuki, the mix of play and dance. |
