While my company was performing in the Summer Summit 2008
in August, there was a festival going on near the Komaba
Agora Theater. I heard that a Mikoshi (portable shrine)
was going to pass through the main street by the theater.
So, the festival lover that I am, I was watching the Mikoshi
in front of the theater. Then, suddenly a middle-aged
man, who was carrying the Mikoshi with the other men,
shouted "You, come here!" Next moment, I found myself
carrying the shrine and calling out "Wasshoi" with the
men. No one, including me, could have predicted my being
in that place a minute before.
I think this is what the performing arts festival "Summit"
should be: a place where a small encounter takes each
of us to discover our new selves.
Let the new Summit begun!
Please join us at the theater.
