THE PLAYBOYS
"Foreigner and I in the Tower of Babel"
written and directed by Yoshio Hori

from Tokyo

Yoshio Hori founded the Playboys to score big with girls in 2005 while he was attending J. F. Oberlin University. Hori writes, directs and produces all shows because he is, at the moment, the only member of the company. With the motto of the company: “to offer audience pathos and ludicrousness of the world only men (might) understand”, the company produces shows by all male casts where pathetic men foolishly joke around and struggle. The reason for the all male casts is that by providing a place exclusively for men, Hori aims to depict a special kind of elation with which men can freely try things that might be embarrassing or too ridiculous. The up-coming production explores the universality of men regardless of languages through a depiction of a Japanese man and a foreign man who are suddenly forced to live together.
