THEATER COMPANY URINKO
"ANIMAL FARM"
from Nagoya

In 1973, eight young actors founded the THEATER COMPANY URINKO in order to achieve to become a professional. URINKO means a baby wild boar in Japanese and they have stripes on their back, which look like those of the Oriental Melon (Uri). Also they are called Urikko or Uribo. Wild boars have the characteristic of rushing directly to its aim. The Theater was named URINKO because of its hope to bring wonderful shows directly to children just like a wild boar charges forward. The Theater is versatile in its style and has performed for small children, teenager and adults in various venues, from small community centers to large auditoriums. This versatility has resulted in the Theater working with a variety of directors and staff.
