Started in 2003 by Nay Hasegawa, playwright,
director and choreographer, the visually distinctive performances
of FujiyamaAnnette are characterized by physically-oriented
directing and daring spacial composition. In recent years
they have been presenting unique pieces based on their Theatertanz
method that uses scripted dialogue at the beginning and replaces
the words with movement as rehearsals develop.
Among their highly acclaimed performances are the productions
at Setagaya Public Theatre (2007), BankART (2008), Kawasaki
ART Center (2009), and Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space (2010).
Their overseas activities include providing video performance
to HAPPYSYSTEM in Zurich, Switzerland (2008), and being invited
to Esplanade in Singapore. Hasegawa is also a sought-after
actor. |
