Tadashi Hashimoto (Playwright and Director) and Yuhki Horie (Artistic Director) founded the Amagasaki Romance Porno while still in Kinki University. Contrary to its name, their work is social and serious, and does not involve any nudity. Their work deals with real unsolved and mysterious cases that have happened in Japan. The company produces plays in a unique genre that can only be described as “fictional non-fiction drama” where the boundary of fiction and non-fiction is blurred. While their stage freely moves between reality and imagination, this world and the afterlife, a nostalgic atmosphere is created on stage through the use of dialogue, dance, image, magic tricks and iron objects. The company in its 5th year aims to be a truly versatile company regardless of genres such as entertainment, underground, pop or avant-garde.
